Difficult to Discern | Hebrews 8
What can you bring to God for your sins? Nothing, and that is the good news of Hebrews 8.
After eight weeks climbing through Hebrews, we reach the summit: "Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens" (Hebrews 8:1).
In this message:
• Why Jesus is seated, and what His finished work means for you
• The Priest who became the sacrifice
• Copy and shadow versus the true tabernacle in heaven
• The New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31: a new heart, a personal knowledge of God, and sins remembered no more
• Why the old covenant is obsolete, and why your works can never save you
• A word to anyone who is drifting or has grown dull of hearing
Scripture: Hebrews 8:1–13; Hebrews 1:1–4; Jeremiah 31:31–34; Romans 5:6–11; Revelation 21:2–8
If you have never trusted Christ, don't delay. "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame" (Romans 10:11).
