Genesis 6–8 | As in the Days of Noah | Grant | Calvary Chapel North Texas

About 1,650 years after creation, the effects of the fall had spread through the whole world. Mankind was corrupt in body and in spirit, and "every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." Yet in the middle of that darkness, one line stands out: "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord."

In this verse-by-verse study through Genesis 6–8, we look at:

Who the "sons of God" and the Nephilim were, and why the earliest Jewish and Christian interpreters, along with Peter and Jude, point to fallen angels

Why the wickedness of man grieved the heart of God, and what it means for our entertainment-soaked, noise-filled culture today

Noah, a just man who walked with God, and how one faithful life matters in a hard-hearted generation

The Ark as a picture of Christ: one door, one way of salvation, and a God who "shut him in"

Was the flood global? What the text says plainly, and what we find on the mountaintops today

"God remembered Noah": encouragement for seasons when it feels like God has forgotten you

God's covenant promise, and the coming day of the Lord in 2 Peter 3

Jesus said, "As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." Today the door of salvation is still open. Come in.
